Extremely Rare! King Edward VIII, Royal Army Service Corps Sword and Original Sword Knot.

This rare sword has an 1897 pattern 34 inch / 86 cm straight blade and wears a P1821 (cavalry/Artillary) three bar hilt.

The finely etched blade bears the cipher of King Edward VIII who reigned from January to December 1936 before abdicating to marry the American divorcee, Mrs Simpson. Very few swords bearing his royal cipher were made during his brief reign.

The blade is in average to good condition with mild age related tarnish. The etching is crisp and clear.

The blade is firm in the hilt. The ray skin grip is in good condition, so too is the twisted wire binding. The three bar hilt retains most of its nickel plating.

The original leather scabbard is in excellent condition and the sword retains its original brown leather sword knot.

This sword is un-cleaned and guaranteed fresh to the market.

It is very hard to find an Edward VIII ciphered sword, especially in such good condition.
