This impressive fighting Tulwar has a high quality (looks to be folded) 748mm single edged blade that retains a very sharp edge.
The curved, forged steel blade has a flat spine and a thin single fuller on both sides. The fuller is decorated with an incised stem and flower pattern. The blade is in good condition and free of rust. There are two or three edge nicks consistent with use and age related tarnish. The blade is firm in the hilt.
The steel hilt is of baluster form with stylised floral finial crosspieces and languets. The hilt terminates in a disc pommel with lotus flower decoration and bud-like skull crusher pommel stud.
This was clearly a high status weapon.
