This high-quality sheath knife was made around 1930-1940 in Sheffield, England. The blade bears the name and “I cut my way” trademark of William Rodgers, but was actually made by the Sheffield based firm of John Clarke & Son who purchased the rights to the Trademark and Rodgers name back in 1855.

These knives were popular with troops for use as personal weapons during WW2.

The 126mm Bowie blade has a slightly rounded spine and a clipped point. The un-fullered blade is double-edged for the final 65mm. The blade is in good used condition and retains its sharp edges.

The ricasso is stamped with the William Rodgers name and trademark logo. The obverse ricasso is stamped, “Made in Sheffield, England.”

The stag antler hilt has a brass bolster with brass and leather spacers and an aluminium pommel. The grip is in good used condition and the blade is firm in the hilt.

The knife is complete with its original brown leather sheath in good used condition. The knife sheathes and draws smoothly and is held firmly within the sheath.

This is a great little knife. A good example of a WW2 period English made sheath knife.
