Famous as a military fighting knife, the Kukri is also the most commonly used multipurpose knife in the fields and homes of Nepal. The chainpure (domestic) kukri is an example of this.

This antique chainpure kukri had a hard, working life in the fields and forests of Nepal.

The 315mm hollow ground blade has a thick, ridged spine, measuring 7mm at the shoulder and tapering to a narrow hatchet point. The blade is in good used condition with a couple of use-related nicks towards the point.

Typical of the chainpure kukri, the Cho at the base of the blade is closed.

The hardwood hilt has a brass bolster. The grip flares to a large domed ellipse at the base allowing the user a very good grip. The grip has some mild wear and is in overall good condition. The blade is firm in the hilt.

The wooden scabbard is in good condition and is complete with its Karda but missing the Chakmak.

This is a good and scarce Nepalese chainpure Kukri. Uncommon on the UK market.
