This is a very rare and high status Sudanese spear or lance head brought back from the Sudan after the Battle of Omdurman in 1898.
The beautifully forged barbed iron spearhead is decorated with a geometric pattern and inlaid with yellow metal.
The spearhead measures 35cm in length and is 3.5cm wide.
This is a truly beautiful and unusual spear and a great decorative item.
