An antique British root-ball sword cane with a brass collar.

The 656mm blade tapers to a needle-sharp point. The superbly balanced blade is in reasonable condition with a good patina and shallow pitting along its length. The forte of the blade is stamped with two symbols that indicate the blade is of Solingen (German) production.

The blade sheathes snugly within the body of the cane.

The bamboo root ball handle of the cane is in excellent condition and has a great age patina. A hairline crack in the crook handle has been professionally repaired and the blade is held firmly with no movement or rattle.

The cane has a horn ferrule. There is a little use related wear to the bottom of the cane. The body of the cane is in excellent condition and is without cracks.

Total length 860mm.

Disclaimer: All sword canes sold by Bygone Blades are sold as historical collectables. They are sold for decorative collectable purposes only. In the United Kingdom and many other countries, it is a serious criminal offence to use a sword cane in public.
