As you know, President Trump has decided that all USA citizens must pay import taxes on any items bought from overseas. He has withdrawn the $800 pre-tax allowance on imports and has also cancelled the exemption for antiques.
The amount of import tax payable is dependent on the country of manufacture of the item, NOT where it was bought/imported from.
For example,
The tariff on UK made items is 10% of the total amount, including the shipping fee.
On items manufactured in mainland Europe, the tariff is 15%.
Some countries incur a much higher percentage.
President Trump has insisted that these fees be paid BEFORE the item is imported, or the parcel will be refused entry into the US.
This basically means that Bygone Blades has to collect the US import tax from you and submit it to the carrier, who in turn pay the US customs.
After you have made your purchase, you will receive a separate invoice for the new import tax specific to the item purchased. This will need to be paid before your purchase is shipped.

British Pattern 1888 Mk I Type II Lee-Metford rifle Bayonet made by Sanderson, Sheffield.
The 300mm double-edged blade has a raised medial ridge and terminates in a spear point. The blade is in good condition with cleaned shallow pitting on the first half of the medial ridge on one side.
The ricasso is marked with the crowned VR cypher of Queen Victoria above the production date of 11/95 (November 1895). The base of the ricasso shows the maker’s details, Sanderson, Sheffield. The obverse ricasso bears a bend test X mark, Sanderson factory inspection mark and the War Department WD and arrow. The spine of the ricasso bears two Sanderson inspection stamps. The belly of the ricasso is stamped with the numeral 2.
The wooden grip scales are in good condition and are stamped with inspection marks. Two large brass rivets positioned close together hold the scales securely in place. The wooden hilt scales are drilled with an oil hole on both sides above the top rivet.
The steel crosspiece and pommel are bright and free from rust. The press-stud locking mechanism is in good, crisp working order.
The bayonet is complete with its black leather scabbard with steel mounts. The steel locket and chape are clean and rust free, with some shallow dings and pitting on the chape. The leather is strong and the stitching intact. The leather is stamped with a Broad Arrow mark, the Enfield Factory mark (EFD) and several inspection marks. The bayonet sheathes and draws smoothly and is held firmly within the scabbard.
This is a good example of an iconic Boer War period bayonet.
