British WW2 No.4 MkII* bayonet made by the Howard & Bullough Company of Lancashire. Howard and Bullough produced 161,026 of the No.4 Mk II* spike bayonet between 1942 and 1943.
This bayonet is in good condition and retains its original finish. The socket block is stamped with the pattern designation above Howard & Bullough’s wartime dispersal code, N.30 The War Department arrow is stamped to the left of the maker’s mark.
The bayonet is complete with a rare experimental Mk II, parallel sided, light weight steel scabbard. Only 25,000 of these Mk II scabbards were produced by the Franco-British Electrical Company. The company’s dispersal code, S191 is stamped on the bottom of the scabbard.
