British No.4 Mk II bayonet made in 1942 at the Singer factory in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Singer factory mark, SM is stamped on the socket block below the pattern designation and King George VI cypher. The catch mechanism is stamped with SM over 42, the year of manufacture. The obverse of the socket block bears a worn numerical mark.
The bayonet is complete with its No.4 Mk I scabbard that retains traces of army brown paint.
