This late Victorian Malacca sword cane has a stitched leather handle that twists to unlock and draw the blade. The bottom of the leather handle has a loop to allow for the attachment of a lanyard.

The 480mm cruciform blade tapers to a sharp point and is in great condition. The top of the blade has a catch that raises to lock the blade inside the cane when the handle is turned ant-clockwise. A clockwise turn lowers the catch and allows the blade to be drawn. The mechanism works perfectly.

The blade is held firmly within the body of the cane and fits snugly, without rattle or play.

The cane has its original brass and steel ferrule.

The cane is in good condition with some age and use related wear to the finish on the lower half. The leather top is in excellent condition and the stitching is intact and tight.

Total length 910mm.

Disclaimer: All sword canes sold by Bygone Blades are sold as historical collectables. They are sold for decorative collectable purposes only. In the United Kingdom and many other countries, it is a serious criminal offence to carry a sword cane in public.
