As you know, President Trump has decided that all USA citizens must pay import taxes on any items bought from overseas. He has withdrawn the $800 pre-tax allowance on imports and has also cancelled the exemption for antiques.
The amount of import tax payable is dependent on the country of manufacture of the item, NOT where it was bought/imported from.
For example,
The tariff on UK made items is 10% of the total amount, including the shipping fee.
On items manufactured in mainland Europe, the tariff is 15%.
Some countries incur a much higher percentage.
President Trump has insisted that these fees be paid BEFORE the item is imported, or the parcel will be refused entry into the US.
This basically means that Bygone Blades has to collect the US import tax from you and submit it to the carrier, who in turn pay the US customs.
After you have made your purchase, you will receive a separate invoice for the new import tax specific to the item purchased. This will need to be paid before your purchase is shipped.
German K98 Bayonet. Horster 1944. Matching Numbered Scabbard. #2607004
German WW2 M1884/98. Also known as the K98, as it was designed for use with the Karabiner 98 kurz, bolt-action rifle. The K98k rifle was the standard service rifle used by the German Wehrmacht during WW2.
This bayonet was made in 1944 by E.u.F Horster and has its original matching numbered scabbard.
The 250mm single-edged blade has a deep single fuller on both sides and is in excellent condition retaining its original black finish.
The blade is marked on the ricasso with the date and maker’s dispersal code, 44asw for 1944, E.u.F. Horster. The obverse ricasso bears the number “2622” over an italicised letter.
The steel pommel retains its original black finish and bears two inspection stamps. The press stud is in crisp working order.
The composite grip scales are in good condition and are held firmly in place with the original screws.
The matching numbered steel scabbard is in excellent condition. The front of the scabbard is marked above the frog stud with the number 2622 over an italicised letter. The back is marked at the top with the date and maker’s mark, 44asw. The bayonet sheathes and draws smoothly and is held firmly within the scabbard.
This is an excellent example of the famous German WW2 bayonet complete with its matching maker and serial numbered scabbard.
