This colonial percussion musket dates from the mid-19th Century and was probably made and used in India.

The musket has an over-all length of 106cm and a barrel length of 63cm. The bore is 18mm diameter. The barrel is stamped “445” just behind the rear sight.

The brass hammer has an undecipherable stamp and the cocking mechanism works well. The hammer cocks to the half and full positions.

The stock of the musket has a brass patch box incorporated.

This colonial musket is in fair to good condition with a great age patina which makes it a great display piece.
