The South African pattern No.9 bayonet was adopted in the 1960’s. These bayonets were assembled by the South African Armaments Corporation (ARMSCOR) and utilised the British style No.9 socket block with a Belgian Fabrique Nationale (FN) made Uzi sub-machinegun bayonet blade that was riveted to the block.

The 170mm un-fullered blade has a full-length single edge and a half-length upper edge making the blade double-edged for 85mm of its length. The blade terminates in a spear point. The parkerized blade is in good condition, is unsharpened and retains its original finish with scabbard wear.

The bayonet is complete with a sheet steel Uzi bayonet scabbard. The bayonet sheathes and draws smoothly and is held firmly within the scabbard.
