Early model of the Italian M1873 Heavy Cavalry sabre with a rounded apple wood grip, chequered steel back strap and browned steel, two-strap tear drop guard.
The sword wears an 84 cm / 33 inch pipe back blade which retains its fighting edge and shows signs of use. The blade is slightly greyed with age and is free from tarnish or rust.
This is a fine example of a hard to find cavalry sword.
