This is a dainty antique British root-ball sword cane in excellent condition.
The 494mm blade tapers to a needle-sharp point. The superbly balanced blade is in very good condition.
The blade sheathes snugly within the body of the cane and is held firmly. The base of the blade and top of the cane opening have leather washers. When closed, the join between the handle and body of the cane is all but invisible.
The bamboo root ball handle of the cane is in excellent condition and has a great age patina. The body of the cane is also in excellent condition.
The cane has a brass ferrule. The ferrule has worn through at the bottom, evidence that this cane was in regular use as a walking stick.
