British Antique Sword Cane Chester Silver Hallmarked Sword Cane British Root-Ball Sword Cane. Chester Silver Hallmark #3 British Root-Ball Sword Cane. Chester Silver Hallmark #4 British Root-Ball Sword Cane. Chester Silver Hallmark #5 British Root-Ball Sword Cane. Chester Silver Hallmark #6
A British root-ball sword cane with a silver collar bearing a scarce Chester hallmark.

The 566mm blade tapers to a needle-sharp point. The superbly balanced blade is in great condition with only a few tiny patches of tarnish.

The blade sheathes snugly within the body of the cane and is held firmly, without rattle or play.

The bamboo root ball handle of the cane has a chip to the outer surface and darkening to the underside, both resulting from the heat used to shape the crook. The cane has a horn ferrule. The wear to the horn ferrule indicates that the cane was in regular use.

The cane is in good condition and is without cracks. There are a few minor dings and some wear to the silver collar consistent with its age and use.

Total length 825mm.

Disclaimer: All sword canes sold by Bygone Blades are sold as historical collectables. They are sold for decorative collectable purposes only. In the United Kingdom and many other countries, it is a serious criminal offence to use a sword cane in public.
