High status and robust Victorian gentleman’s ebonised sword cane dated 1894.

The 528mm tri-form blade has a deep central fuller and narrows to a spear point.

The blade is in very good condition and sheathes snugly within the body of the cane without rattle or play. The silver collar is engraved, “A.W. Searley from N.J.B.B. 1894.” There is also an engraved maker’s mark.

The cane is in good condition and has no damage or cracks. The cane has been re-ebonised. There are a few dings and some wear to the collar and top, consistent with its age. The brass and steel ferrule is original to the cane but has almost no wear, indicating that the cane was rarely used.

Total length 908mm.

Disclaimer: All sword canes sold by Bygone Blades are sold as historical collectables. They are sold for decorative collectable purposes only. In the United Kingdom and many other countries, it is a serious criminal offence to use a sword cane in public.
