This German M1890, NCO sword is of World War 2 issue and was made by WKC.
The 805mm single edged, slightly curved blade has a flat spine and single fuller on each side. The nickel-plated blade is in near mint condition. The ricasso bears the knight’s helmet and WKC logo of Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie., of Solingen, Germany.
The nickel-plated “Dove Head” hilt is in excellent condition with all the plating present and bright. The composite grip is complete with three strands of twisted wire.
The blade is firm in the hilt.
The sword is complete with its original rolled steel scabbard. The scabbard retains over 90% of its original black finish and is in good condition with minor use related marks and two small dents. The sword sheathes and draws smoothly and is held tightly within the scabbard.
